What is the RWC program?
The RWC (Real World Connections) program is a multidisciplinary initiative that transforms classroom learning by providing a free, real-world project-based environment year-round. It aims to redefine how students learn and how businesses engage with education.
How does the RWC program impact education?
The RWC program empowers students by providing ownership of their learning experience, creating a pipeline from middle school to industry, and fostering collaboration between businesses and educational institutions.
Is the RWC Program open to all students?
Yes, the RWC program operates as a free, year-round learning environment, welcoming students from diverse backgrounds and disciplines.
How big can each team be?
We generally suggest/allow each project team to have 3 or 4 members.
How is this program different from an internship?
A typical internship (or Co-op) opportunity will engage an individual student and have her/him work at the sponsor organization location in either individually or in a group setting. A capstone program is structured as a credit course that expects an industry-sponsored project within an academic setting that creates a learning opportunity leading to tangible benefits to sponsors.
Is there any protection for information shared with students?
Each participating student is expected to sign a non-disclosure agreement that establishes an agreement between the sponsor, team members and capstone program.
